Vincent PetersKelly Clarkson‘s talk show will be starting in a few months, and she says she’s going to do whatever it takes to make sure she’s got a star-studded lineup of guests to chat with.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Kelly said, “I’m calling in all favors…It’s hard to get people on a first-time show… I never usually ask for favors ’cause it makes me feel awkward, but I’m totally going to.”
She’s already lined up country legend Reba McEntire, but that’s no big deal, since Reba used to be married to Kelly’s husband’s dad. But the one guest she says she’d “better” get is comedic actor Steve Carell.
“I just want to introduce him and yell his name,” Kelly joked, referring to that scene in the movie The 40-Year-Old Virgin where Carell’s character screams “Kelly Clarkson!” in pain as he gets his chest waxed. Kelly finally met Carell at last year’s Golden Globes.
But rather than lining up guests, maybe Kelly should focus on making sure everyone knows who she is. She admitted on Twitter that last night at the Academy of Country Music Awards, “The greatest thing by far that happened to me was being asked to move because some guy thought I was a seat filler!”
She added, “Literally, it made my night because he was so serious, and I just politely said no hahaha!!”
Kelly performed at last night’s ACM Awards and she was also a nominee, but she didn’t win.
