Shawn Mendes announces first hometown stadium show, limited-edition collection with Canadian retailer Roots

ABC/Matt BrownShawn Mendes has toured around the world, but nothing’s as satisfying as being a big shot in your hometown.

Shawn has announced his first-ever stadium show in his hometown of Toronto.  The September 6, 2019 show at Rogers Center in Toronto will be his biggest headlining show to date, and it’ll officially mark the end of the North American leg of his global tour.

“Playing Rogers Centre is truly a dream come true for me. Having grown up going to games, playing as an opener just a few years ago, and now being able to headline a show here, is just surreal,” Shawn says in a statement. “I’m so grateful for the fans that have supported me from the beginning and have made this possible.”

While there are various presales available via ShawnStadium.com, tickets go on sale to the general public December 15 at 10 a.m. ET via Ticketmaster.ca.

In a tweet, Shawn promises “surprise guests” at the show, plus an “extended version of the tour set.”

Meanwhile, Shawn has also announced a limited-edition merchandise collaboration with Roots, the Canadian clothing brand.  The collection will launch Tuesday at the Roots store in the CF Toronto Eaton Centre shopping mall. The first 100 fans who buy something will get a limited-edition signed poster, while ten fans will win tickets to the show and one will win a meet-and-greet with Shawn.  All fans who show up at the store will receive a pre-sale code for show tickets.

If you don’t live in Canada, you’ll be able to grab the Roots items starting Wednesday at Roots.com.
