Raise Your Glass: Pink complains about one New Zealand bar, praises another

ABC/Lou RoccoWhen one bar closes, another one opens. Pink had both good and bad experiences this week at two different New Zealand bars while wrapping up her tour dates in the country.

Yesterday the singer tweeted about one Auckland bar: “Man I’ve been to some cool bars around the world, and Deadshot on Ponsonby road is not one of them.” She followed the tweet with a thumbs down emoji.

But where that establishment did not meet her expectations, another bar did. She posted an Instagram photo of herself at the place called Revelry, relaxing with a drink in hand.

“I found the perfect place in Auckland,” she wrote. “They were closing when we came in, but the bartender had a fire lit, and booze to sell, so he welcomed all 16 of us to celebrate the end of a truly magical journey through New Zealand.”

She continued, “Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for showing all of us (including my dad and stepmom who flew from Philadelphia) the best time of our lives. Smitten.”

As for the bar she complained about, Deadshot bar manager Heather Garland told New Zealand’s Stuff,  “Unfortunately, as we are a very small seated service cocktail bar we just didn’t have enough space for the 30 people who showed up for an after party. We usually only take groups of six or less.”

Garland said they didn’t actually see Pink, but would have loved to have her in.
