Public memorial for the late XXXTentacion Wednesday in Sunrise, Florida

A poster on X’s Instagram page announced the event, reading, “Fan memorial in loving memory of Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, creatively known as XXTentation. Come say your final goodbye on Wednesday June 27 2018 at Florida Panthers Stadium from 12 pm-to 6 pm.”

“Florida Panthers Stadium” is actually the BB&T Center, the arena that’s home to the Florida Panthers hockey team.

“Fan requests for a public viewing and memorial were overwhelming, we decided to have the memorial at one of Florida’s largest [venues] so we can accommodate everyone,” publicist Aishah White tells Billboard.

She adds, “Fans will be able to view XXXTentacion’s body and pay final respects. We hope this will help fans find closure and begin the healing process.”

While the memorial is free, XXXTentacion’s mother, Cleopatra Bernard, is urging his fans to contribute money to his foundation. Her Instagram post reads, “Everyone go donate one dollar to the xxxtentacion Foundation on the xxxtentacion.com website all proceeds will go to various charities this was his final wish.”

Eight days following his death, XXXTentacion is dominating the Billboard Charts, His single “Sad!” jumped from #52 to #1. He also has two albums in the top ten: his 2018 album ? is #3,  and his 2017 album 17 is #7.
