Mert & MarcusTaylor Swift delivered a touching Mother’s Day tribute during Saturday night’s Reputation tour stop in Santa Clara, California.
Taylor told the crowd that both she and opening act Camila Cabello wanted to dedicate Taylor’s song “The Best Day” to their moms. She added, “And I want you to think about anybody in your life who has mothered you and been there for you and made you who you are. This is called ‘The Best Day.'”
Taylor then launched into an acoustic version of the song, off her 2008 album, Fearless, which was written for her mom, Andrea. The song’s lyrics include the lines, “Now I know why the all the trees change in the fall/I know you were on my side/Even when I was wrong/And I love you for giving me your eyes/Staying back and watching me shine.”
Taylor’s next stop on the Reputation tour is the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California on May 18.
