Tuesday, the chart-topping singer posted a screenshot on Instagram of what appears to be a text message conversation.
The post displays the message, “Should we drop Friday? I’m indifferent to be honest.”
A source also tells Billboard that the superstar is definitely working on new music, adding, “This project is Abel taking it back to his roots.”
As previously reported, The Weeknd — born Abel Tesfaye — was recently spotted in California shooting a music video.
The singer’s busy schedule also includes a headlining appearance at Coachella in April and the June release of his Starboy comic book.
The Weeknd’s most recent album, also called Starboy, was released in 2016.
