“Call Me” a billion times: Carly Rae Jepsen hits YouTube milestone

604/Schoolboy/Interscope RecordsWe first met her more than five years ago, so this is crazy: the video for Carly Rae Jepsen‘s “Call Me Maybe” has finally racked up one billion views on YouTube.

The video for the smash hit, which topped the charts for nine weeks in 2012, passed the one billion mark on Sunday.  The clip is still averaging over 250,000 views per day, but at its peak, it was grabbing just under two million views per day.

While “Call Me Maybe” is Carly Rae’s best known video, it’s not the only YouTube success she’s had.  Her 2016 clip for “I Really Like You,” starring Tom Hanks, has notched 200 million views, and her videos for other songs, like “Tonight I’m Getting Over You” and “Run Away With Me” have all attracted tens of millions of views.
