Mariah Carey to be honored at VH1's “Hip Hop Honors: The 90's Game Changers” event this month

Denise TruscelloToday, VH1 announced that Mariah Carey will be honored at this year’s Hip Hop Honors: The 90’s Game Changers event airing September 18.  

The global icon will be saluted for her “groundbreaking hip-hop collaborations,” according to a statement.   

Actor Martin Lawrence will also be honored, with Girls Trip star Regina Hall set to host and Missy Elliott scheduled to perform at the 90’s-style block party celebration.  

The show, which is being taped on Sunday, September 17, will commemorate hip-hop’s golden era, featuring classic moments from television, film and music. 

Tune in to Hip Hop Honors: The 90’s Game Changers on Sunday, September 18 at 9 p.m. ET on VH1.
