PRNewsfoto/Live Nation EntertainmentJanet Jackson‘s highly anticipated State of the World tour kicks off tonight in Lafayette, Louisiana, and fans have been wondering if the superstar is still planning to perform her Houston date on Saturday, following the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey in that city.

Janet confirmed in a recent Instagram video that her show in Houston will go on.

“Hey you guys,” she says. “I’m backstage in Louisiana and I’m at rehearsal about to kick off my tour. And our next show is in Houston and I know there have been rumors on whether we were gonna do the show in Houston or whether we weren’t gonna do the show in Houston. I’m here to tell you that we are going to do the show in Houston.”

Janet adds, “But we’re gonna roll in early because we wanna visit some of the shelters. And not just visit some of the shelters. We also wanna do something special for the victims. So I will see you Friday.”
