RJ Sangosti/The Denver Post via Getty ImagesMorning testimony is now complete on Day 3 of the trial involving Taylor Swift and David Mueller, the Denver, Colorado deejay she claimed groped her during a concert meet-and-greet in 2013.
During his cross-examination of Mueller, Doug Baldridge, Taylor’s attorney, asked the deejay, “Can we agree that if you accidentally touched Miss Swift’s rear, she’d have a right to not like that?” Mueller agreed.
He and Baldridge both agreed that a photo taken at the meet-and-greet, which shows Mueller’s arm and hand below Taylor’s waist level, looks “awkward.”
“Would it have been possible to put your hand somewhere other than her rear end?” asked Baldridge. “If I had more time, to walk over to get into the photo, it certainly would have been possible,” replied Mueller.
Baldridge showed other photos taken that same night of Taylor posing with fans, and pointed out that nobody else had their hand where Mueller had his.
“Is it ever inappropriate for a woman to report her belief that she had been touched in an inappropriate manner?” Baldridge asked Mueller. “No sir,” replied Mueller.
During redirect, Mueller insisted that his hand “was not on Miss Taylor Swift’s rear end.”
Mueller has sued Taylor, saying her claim that he groped her during a meet-and-greet in 2013 is false and caused him to be fired. Taylor has countersued, claiming assault and battery for “offensive and harmful physical contact.”
Still no word as to when Taylor herself will testify. So far, she’s been sitting with her mom and her team in the courtroom, taking lots of notes.
