Pete Davidson told Ariana Grande the day they met that he’d marry her

Raymond Hall/GC ImagesIf you thought Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson’s engagement after a few weeks of dating was fast, turns out it could have happened even faster.

Pete tells GQ magazine that he would’ve proposed to Ariana after just a day.

“The day I met her, I was like, ‘Hey, I’ll marry you tomorrow,'” he says. “She was calling my bluff. I sent her a picture [of engagement rings]. I was like, ‘Do you like any of these?’ She was like, ‘Those are my favorite ones,’ and I was like, ‘Sick.'”

The SNL star ended up proposing with a $93,000 pear-shaped diamond in June. The couple recently moved into an New York City apartment that reportedly cost $16 million.

“She’s really sweet. She’s like, ‘This is our house,’ and I’m like, ‘You’re very nice for saying that. Thank you for letting me stay here,'” he jokes. “She’s like, ‘We’re getting married!’ And I’m like, ‘I know, thank you for letting me stay here.'”

Up next for the two – after Ariana drops her album Sweetener on Friday, of course – is decorating their apartment and starting the wedding planning.

“It’s like, we have six beanbags, but we have no forks—you know what I mean?” he says. “We’re learning how to be adults. We’re having a really fun time.”
