Republic RecordsAt midnight Thursday — a week earlier than announced — Ariana Grande released “God Is a Woman,” the new single from her upcoming album, Sweetener.
“You, you love it how I move you/You love it how I touch you, my one/When all is said and done/You’ll believe God is a woman,” Ariana sings in the chorus to the song, produced by Max Martin and ILYA.
Grande previously described the song’s theme as “sexual female empowerment & how women are literally everything & the universe is inside of us,” according to Billboard.
The music video, directed by Dave East, will debut Friday at noon.
Sweetener, Grande’s fourth album, which also features “No More Tears Left to Cry,” is scheduled to arrive August 17.
