It’s New Music Friday, so here’s a rundown of some of the new music that’s available right now:
— After teasing the new release on social media, Alessia Cara has debuted “Growing Pains” – the first single off her upcoming sophomore album. She also released a lyric video for the song, in which she sings about being nostalgic for her youth while rolling around in the grass in an oversized suit.
“And I’ve always been a go-getter/There’s truth in every word I write/But still these growing pains, growing pains/They’re keeping me up at night,” the Grammy winner sings. She’ll perform the song Monday night on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.
— “Meant to Be” singer Bebe Rexha has released a new song called “I’m a Mess,” a week before her debut album Expectations drops. In the song, Bebe owns up to her faults, even as she reassures herself everything’s going to be O.K. “I’m a mess, I’m a loser, I’m a hater, I’m a user/I’m a mess for your love, it ain’t new,” she sings.
— “Cake By the Ocean” hitmakers DNCE has dropped not one, not two, but four new songs. The band has released a brand new EP called People to People. The four tracks include “TV in the Morning,” “Still Good,” “Lose My Cool” and “Man On Fire.”
Frontman Joe Jonas says in a statement, “These new songs represent the evolution that the band has gone through over the last couple of years. They’re a little more chill, sophisticated. We’ve matured together, and so has the music.”
