Harry Styles groped on stage; fans start #RespectHarry Twitter movement

Harley WeirSome overzealous fans got handsy with Harry Styles at a charity concert Saturday, and other fans wasted no time in rushing to Harry’s defence online.

In a video posted to Twitter, Harry is seen being groped by several fans in the front row as he performs his song “Kiwi” at the “We Can Survive” breast cancer awareness event.

The excited crowd members grab at his chest and crotch area, prompting Harry to quickly push them away and back up as he continues singing.

Not long after the video was posted, fans came to Harry’s defense on Twitter. They decried the incident as sexual assault and got the hashtag #RespectHarry trending.

One fan tweeted, “Harry is a human. don’t treat him like a sex symbol. you wouldn’t do it to a girl so why do you do it to him? #RespectHarry.”

Another fan wrote, “I’m in tears. Harry has created such a safe space for everyone, and this is how he’s repaid? Sexual assault? I just… #RespectHarry.”
