The Community Foundation Sonoma County & First 5 Sonoma County, have partnered with The Dollywood Foundation & California’s Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to ensure universal access to free books for the county’s 23,000+ children younger than 5.

A personal library in the home is proven by research to positively benefit very young children – helps support cognitive development & language skills, increasing nurturing interactions between caregivers & children & cultivating a lifelong love of reading. Sonoma County Parents will be able to enroll their age-eligible child & have the option to choose their child’s books in English, Spanish, or bilingual. Each enrolled child will receive a book in the mail form the Dollywood Foundation on a monthly basis until their 5th birthday.
