Experience Matchbox Twenty's concert in virtual reality next week

Jessica Sigmon Wallace/Getty ImagesIf you can’t be at a Matchbox Twenty concert in person, the band is bringing you the next best thing.

Rob Thomas and the guys have teamed up with SwivelVR to create what’s being billed as the first “fan-controlled virtual reality experience ever.”  The unique event will take place on October 4 at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.

Fans will be able to virtually “attend” the Denver Matchbox Twenty concert by using the SwivelVR app. Unlike other VR experiences, this app allows you to change your point of view with a hands-free menu.

You can take snapshots during the virtual concert to either save or share on social media. You can also play with special effects and watch band exclusives.  Just download the app and click on the tutorial to find out how to access the concert.
