Justin Bieber's the first male musician to hit 100 million Twitter followers

Peter YangMove over, Katy Perry: Justin Bieber just joined you in the 100 Million club.

Twitter announced Thursday that Justin Bieber has finally amassed 100 million Twitter followers.  He’s only the second musician to hit that milestone: Katy Perry is the first.  Even Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Lady Gaga — whose fans are among the most dedicated in the world — don’t have that many followers, though Taylor comes closest, with 85.5 million.

According to Billboard, all told, Justin’s been mentioned more than two billion times on Twitter, and his most retweeted post has been tweeted more than 638,000 times.  That message reads: “YOU ARE ALL WORTHY NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE SAYS >> BE STRONG GOD IS WITH US ALL> MY BELIEBERS CHANGED MY LIFE> I WILL FOREVER BE GRATEFUL.”

Meanwhile, Twitter’s also released a list of the top Songs of the Summer, based on users’ tweets.  Justin has two on the list: the “Despacito” remix, and his collaboration with David Guetta, “2U.”
