Joseph LlanesAndy Grammer’s latest single, “Give Love,” is a positive, uplifting song, as many of Andy’s hits are. While the hopeful message in his songs have helped many a fan, Andy admits there was a time recently when even he got a much-needed boost from one of his own hits.
Andy is prepping a new record for release this fall, and he tells ABC Radio, “With this album, there’s just, like, up and downs to the creative process. Not that you get super-frustrated, but you go, ‘Man I just can’t see my way out of this pickle right now.'”
“And I remember sitting getting breakfast somewhere, just a little frustrated, and ‘Keep Your Head Up’ came on…for me!” he laughs.
“Keep Your Head Up” was Andy’s first hit, and was about his struggles to make it as a musician. The lyrics promise, “You’ll turn out fine,” and advise, “I know it’s hard/To remember sometimes/But you gotta keep your head up.”
“I didn’t know it was gonna come on, but I needed it!” he continues. “I needed myself from the past to be like, ‘You’re gonna be all right, dude! Just keep pushing!’ So if that’s at all what’s happening to anybody else, that makes me really happy.”
Another thing that makes Andy really happy is his new baby girl, Louisiana K. Grammer, known as Louie. He and his wife Aijia [asia] welcomed her on July 28.
