Getty Images via ABCThere’s nothing holding him back. Shawn Mendes is stepping into the world of fragrances with his debut scent, Shawn Mendes Signature, out today.
“For me personally, I have smelled some women’s perfume and said, ‘I would wear that,’” the singer tells PeopleStyle. “I’m sure a lot of women will smell my cologne and be like, ‘Wow, that’s awesome. I would wear that too.’ I’ve always thought of it as [just] this is something that smells good.”
Shawn says the scent, designed to be worn by both men and women, was ultimately based on a cream he purchased in Brazil that was both tropical and musky. Shawn Mendes Signature includes notes of lemon, pineapple and McIntosh apple, as well as florals, dulce de leche, skin musk and a special ingredient that pays homage to Shawn’s Canadian roots — maple.
