Demi Lovato designs activewear collection for charity

PRNewsfoto/FableticsDemi Lovato is combining her love of working out with her love of raising money for causes close to her heart.

The singer has teamed up with Fabletics, the activewear brand co-founded by Kate Hudson in 2013, to launch a limited-edition capsule collection called Demi Lovato for Fabletics.  Described as a “true collaboration” between Kate, Demi and the brand, it features designs inspired by Demi’s “music and mission.”

A portion of sales from the collection will benefit Girl Up, a United Nations Foundation campaign that empowers girls to enact change for other girls worldwide.

Demi writes on Instagram that her clothing “will make you feel amazing inside and out!” She adds, “Being active is a huge part of my life, so it was important for me to create a line that’s accessible, comfortable and fashionable, while inspiring you to take care of your mind and body.”

In a statement, she added, “I am thrilled to lend my voice to such a powerful brand and organization, both of which represent many of the values I stand for — particularly the importance of empowering girls.”

In a statement, Kate said of Demi, “She’s a definitive voice for female empowerment and body positivity – especially for the younger generation — which is something we believe in very strongly at Fabletics.”

Demi’s capsule collection launches this month, and then the full line will be available in August.
