The series, which debuts May 28, features Ryan Tedder, Meghan Trainor, Charlie Puth, John Legend, the Jonas Brothers and more as they give aspiring songwriters the chance to showcase their original songs.

“Every artist is looking for one thing: that next great song,” John Legend says at the start of the clip.

“We’re going to pull back the curtains and we’re going to show you how music is made,” Ryan Tedder adds.

We then see a montage of the contestants performing their songs for the various big-name artists. The show gives one songwriter per episode the chance to have their song recorded by an established music star and each songwriting hopeful will be mentored by three top music producers.

“You were born to do this,” Meghan tells one contestant, while Charlie delivers good news to another, telling them, “I’m picking your song.”

Songland premieres Tuesday, May 28 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
