ABC/Paula LoboCamila Cabello turned 22 on Sunday, and to mark the occasion, she shared a list of “22 Things I Learned While Being 21.” Among those things: advice about love, life, family and self-care.
Some of the things she shares are simple, such as, “Taking a hot bubble bath in your 20’s is a spiritual experience,” “Don’t compare yourself to people on social media” and “Watch Disney movies when you feel sad; they remind you of the innocence and simplicity of being a kid.”
Others are more complex, such as, “No feeling compares to falling love. It makes sense — all the movies, the stories, the songs. It IS the most intoxicating, consuming feeling that exists…I don’t think any feeling compares to the intensity of it.”
She also shares, “Everybody has a different version of their best life. Just because someone’s version of their best life is going out and getting drunk at a club, doesn’t mean I should feel bad that I’m 21 and that doesn’t do it for me…everyone has their different versions of an amazing night…it feels good to make peace with yours.”
Camila cautions fans to “make decisions you’re putting off,” “be romantic about the little things,” “call your family,” and “always keep it moving, even if you don’t know where you’re going…just do something, it’ll make sense later.”
She ends the lengthy post by saying, “I really don’t know anything and I’m just making it up, having my emotional crises, crying, laughing, being confused, feeling like flying, feeling horrible and doing it all over again this year. I’m so lucky.”
The singer has been working on new music but there’s no word on when we’ll get to hear it. She did reveal one new song title, though: “Living Proof.”
