Fred Watkins/ABC via Getty ImagesJimmy Kimmel debuted a new prank segment, “Undercover Sing,” on his show Wednesday night — and his first celebrity prankster was Christina Aguilera.
Christina surprised unsuspecting customers at a Randy’s Donuts shop in Los Angeles by singing to them, off the cuff, while out of sight in the back of the store. In other words, what sounded like Christina’s music playing over the store’s loudspeakers was, in fact, Christina herself, watching customers on closed-circuit cameras and then improvising lyrics based on their appearance or what they were doing.
For example, to the tune of her hit “Genie in a Bottle,” Aguilera belted out: “Here’s a guy in all denim, and he also has a wallet chain/He just wants to eat some donuts, in his Canadian tuxedo,” perfectly describing one customer’s appearance.
Xtina was gracious enough to hand-deliver the shocked customers their doughnuts from the back of the store, as they reacted in delighted disbelief.
