Character flaw: Ariana Grande misspells Japanese “7 Rings” tattoo

Republic Records/UMG

It seems Ariana Grande’s latest ink was a major fail.

This week, the singer posted a photo of a new tattoo on her palm, which is supposed to spell out the title of her new single “7 Rings” in Japanese Kanji character symbols. But the ink she actually got translates to “shichirin”…which means a Japanese-style barbecue grill. Oops.

Fans on Twitter pointed this out to Ariana and it turns out she’s aware of the misspelling.

In a since-deleted tweet, Ariana explained she had purposely left out some characters because the tattoo was too painful.

“It hurt like f*** n still looks tight,” she wrote. “I wouldn’t have lasted one more symbol lmao. But this spot also peels a ton and won’t last so if I miss it enough I’ll suffer thru the whole thing next time.”

She added, “Also…. huge fan of tiny bbq grills.”
