In 2018, your radio was all about Maroon 5 and “Perfect”

Travis SchneiderDid Maroon 5 make a big impression on the radio in 2018? Yeah yeah yeah. Yeah yeah yeah.

Billboard reports that Adam Levine and the guys were the biggest act on U.S. radio stations in 2018, according to Nielsen Music, racking up 1.95 million plays of their songs, including their #1 hit “Girls Like You.”

Among the other acts who were heard the most over the U.S. radio airwaves: Imagine Dragons, Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, Camila Cabello, Taylor Swift and Shawn Mendes.

When it comes to the most popular song on the radio in 2018, however, the answer is “Perfect.”

Ed Sheeran’s #1 hit was heard more times by radio listeners than any other song.  Not only that, but this is now the second year in the row that Ed’s had the most popular radio song. For 2017, it was “Shape of You.”

The second biggest song of 2018?  “Meant to Be,” by Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line. That’s no surprise, considering it was a big hit on at least five different Billboard charts.

And speaking of country/pop crossovers, “The Middle” by Zedd, Maren Morris and Grey was the #3 biggest radio song of the year, followed by Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You.”

The rest of the top 10 most popular radio songs of 2018 include MAX‘s “Lights Down Low,” Taylor Swift‘s “Delicate” and two songs by Camila Cabello: “Havana” and “Never Be the Same.”
