Dennis LeupoldIn 2018, Normani scored her first solo non-Fifth Harmony hit with “Love Lies,” her duet with Khalid. She also released a bunch of stand-alone singles and plans more music early this year. But how have fans reacted to the music she’s released so far? “I think well,” says Normani, considering she’s made some eclectic musical choices.
“I’ve been playing around with a few things,” she tells ABC Radio. “Y’know, I had two records with Calvin Harris. I did my record with 6LACK…’Waves.’ ‘Love Lies.’ I did a record with Quavo. So I’ve kinda just been dabbling into a bit of everything.”
“But,” Normani adds, “I can’t wait to have them listen to what it is that I’ve been working on in the studio.”
While she’s doing that, Normani will also be busy opening for Ariana Grande on Ari’s upcoming Sweetener World Tour. So what’s the singer’s resolution for 2019?
“Stop doubting myself? Yeah!” she tells ABC Radio after thinking about it for a minute. “Which I’ve gotten a lot better at. Honestly, I’ve grown so much. But — just to know that I’m the sh…..!”
