ABC/Image Group LATaylor Swift doesn’t use Twitter that often these days — she prefers Instagram — but each one of her rare tweets packs a heck of an impact.
According to Brandwatch, Taylor is the most influential woman on Twitter, despite only tweeting 13 times this year so far. Brandwatch places her “influencer score” at 98 out of a possible 100. Brandwatch arrives at its “influencer score” by measuring the level of “genuine engagement” a person is creating with their account.
Followers, retweets and replies all count towards that score, but apparently, whether or not a person is engaging with people who are themselves influential is among the most important criteria considered by Brandwatch. Twitter itself has not weighed in on this topic.
After Taylor, the second most influential woman on Twitter is Katy Perry, followed by Kim Kardashian West, Demi Lovato, Ellen DeGeneres and Selena Gomez.
As for the men, Liam Payne of One Direction takes the top spot, according to Brandwatch, with an influencer score of 97. President Donald Trump is right behind with 96.
Justin Bieber, Barack Obama, soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo and Liam’s One Direction band mate Niall Horan round out the list of influential men.
