ABC/Image Group LAThe Chainsmokers announced Monday that their new TV and movie production company, Kick the Habit, will be producing a movie based on their hit song “Paris.” The duo’s Alex Pall and Drew Taggart say they started the company because they have a “really unique” opportunity to expand their creativity.
Alex told ABC Radio about Kick the Habit a few months ago, saying that TV and film production is “another whole creative field that we’re really interested in.” But according to Drew, they didn’t start the company with an eye towards becoming movie or TV stars themselves.
“I think we would love to be in something that we would fit in, but that’s not the motivation for doing it,” he told ABC Radio. “We love TV and film and just media in general. And having an opportunity right now where people are interested in working with us in that space is really unique. And we’re trying to make something of it.”
Between their new creative endeavors, ongoing work on their sophomore album and touring, Alex says, “We’re just having a great time, so [we’ll] see how it goes!”
The Chainsmokers will also be performing on The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Holiday Special, which will air December 2 on ABC. Also on the bill: Halsey, Bebe Rexa, Shawn Mendes and Rita Ora.
