Trae Patton/NBCCeeLo Green is returning to The Voice, according to People, but he won’t be reclaiming his former red chair.
Instead, the singer — who was one of the show’s original coaches when it first debuted in 2011 — will appear on season 15 as Adam Levine’s battle adviser. He’ll dole out advice to the 12 contestants who make it on Team Adam.
CeeLo left the show in 2014 after four seasons.
Season 15 of The Voice will feature coaches Adam, Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson. Halsey will serve as Jennifer’s battle adviser this season, while country singer Thomas Rhett will be Kelly’s and country singer Keith Urban will be Blake’s.
The Voice premieres Monday, September 24 on NBC.
