ABC/Image Group LA G-Eazy is apologizing to his fans after being arrested last Wednesday in Sweden for assault and drug possession.
“Embarrassed & apologetic beyond words about the incident,” the rapper wrote in an Instagram post Sunday, “but above all I’m so f***ing happy they let me go.”
The rapper goes on to explain that after “the craziest night of my life,” he is happy to get back to his world tour. But, he wasn’t completely let off the hook. G-Eazy was sentenced to two years’ probation and will have to pay $9,000 for his crime, plus $810 in restitution to the security guard he allegedly assaulted, People reports.
After performing at his own show earlier in the evening, the singer went to a club where he reportedly caught security guards’ attention for acting belligerent. TMZ reports that when security asked him to behave, G-Eazy may have gotten physically violent and started throwing punches.
The “Me, Myself & I” rapper describes the incident as an “awful night with a lot of bad luck and some even worse decisions, but like I said I’m grateful as f*** to be a free man.”
He finished his post thanking his support system, which most likely includes his girlfriend Halsey, who was there at the time of arrest.
“Thank you to everyone who’s held me down along the way and supported this journey,” he wrote. “I appreciate you more than you’ll ever know.”
