CBS NewsShe’s scored #1 hits, sold millions of records and been nominated for Grammy Awards, but Kesha says she still feels like a misfit.
On this weekend’s installment of CBS Sunday Morning, Kesha tells Anthony Mason, “I don’t feel like I fit in anywhere, really. Still.” When Mason reminds her that she has millions of fans, Kesha acknowledges, “At my shows, I feel like I fit in.”
In the interview, Kesha talks about going to rehab in 2014 for an eating disorder, her new music, her place on TIME magazine’s new list of the 100 Most Influential People and more.
“I knew I had to because I hated myself so much,” Kesha says of choosing to go to rehab. The experience ended up inspiring the title track of her latest album Rainbow. “I feel like I took my life back,” she says of the Grammy-nominated disc.
Due to the fact that it’s ongoing, Kesha can’t say too much about her legal battle with her former producer, Dr. Luke, but when Mason asks her, “What are you telling yourself when you’re going through this?” Kesha replies, “There’s only so much somebody can take.”
Kesha has accused Dr. Luke of emotional and sexual abuse; he has denied all charges.
You can watch the entire interview with Sunday Morning at 9 a.m. ET on CBS.
