Capitol RecordsWe finally have a release date for the new 5 Seconds of Summer album.
The Aussie band’s third album, Youngblood, arrives June 22. The title track will be released this Thursday, April 12 at 10 a.m. ET.
The group will perform the album’s first single, “Want You Back” Wednesday night on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
In a statement about the new album, singer Luke Hemmings says, “Growing up is what we had to do on Youngblood. Seven years as a band may seem like a long time, but we were teenagers when we started. We had to look at each other and say, ‘Are we going to stop now, or do this forever? Because if we continue, then we have to go farther than we ever have before.’”
Meanwhile, 5 Seconds of Summer has announced an extensive tour for later in the year. The Meet You There tour will kick off August 27 in Toronto, ON and wrap up October 12 in Los Angeles. Every ticket purchased for the tour includes a copy of Youngblood. Tickets go on sale this Friday, April 13 at 10 a.m. local time via LiveNation.com.
