Listen now: Kesha sings on new album of LGBTQ wedding songs

MGM Resorts InternationalKesha has contributed to a new album of reimagined wedding songs for the LGBTQ community.

Titled Universal Love, the project, presented by MGM Resorts, includes six iconic love songs that have been rerecorded with same-sex pronouns. Kesha sings “I Need a Woman to Love,” originally recorded by Janis Joplin as “I Need a Man to Love.”

“I’ve always been an advocate for equal rights,” Kesha says. “It’s an issue that’s so close to my heart. It is something that is a part of my family, it’s a part of my friends, it’s a part of me and when I was approached for this project, I instantly said yes. It was a no-brainer.”

Other contributors include Bob Dylan singing “He’s Funny That Way” and St. Vincent singing “And Then She Kissed Me.”

Universal Love is available on streaming services today.
