Imagine Dragons release new song, announce more Evolve tour dates

KIDinaKORNER / Interscope RecordsThe evolution continues: Imagine Dragons debuted a brand new single today and announced summer dates for their Evolve Tour.

Their new song, called “Next to Me,” is about a person experiencing unconditional love despite his flaws. Frontman Dan Reynolds tells Apple Music’s Zane Lowe that writing a love song was unusual for him.

“I don’t typically write love songs,” he says. “It was different, but it was fun and it stretched me…it’s about my frailties within romance.”

The band will be performing the song, as well as other hits including “Believer” and “Thunder,” on the road this summer starting June 5 in Hartford, Connecticut.

The trek will hit cities including Boston, Toronto, New York and Los Angeles, before wrapping August 10 in Tampa, Florida. Tickets go on sale starting Saturday, March 3 at 10 a.m. local time.

Young singer/songwriter Grace VanderWaal, who won America’s Got Talent in 2016, will be the tour’s special guest.
