Imagine Dragons asks conservative group to stop using “Whatever It Takes”

ABC/Randy HolmesAdd Imagine Dragons to the list of bands asking politicians not to use their music.

Apparently, the Conservative Political Action Conference, an annual event attended by conservative activists and elected officials, had been using ID’s song “Whatever It Takes” on its website.

When this was brought to the band’s attention on Twitter, they replied, “Not cool,” adding, “We are reaching out to get it taken down.”

The song has since been removed from the site.

This isn’t the first time a musician has taken issue with CPAC using their music. After he learned that one of his song’s played at last year’s conference, Andrew McMahon told the group to “take me off your playlist.”
