Hello? Bruno Mars just matched Lionel Richie's chart record

Atlantic RecordsBruno Mars has managed to finesse another historical Hot 100 feat.

His “Finesse” remix, featuring rapper Cardi B, has jumped from #35 to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100.  Not only is this Bruno’s 15th overall top 10, but it’s allowed him to do something that only one other male artist has ever done: score three top 10s from each of his first three albums.

Previously, the only male artist ever to do this was music legend Lionel Richie, who accomplished the feat from 1982 to 1986.

From Bruno’s first album, Doo-Wops and Hooligans, he scored with “Just the Way You Are,” “Grenade” and “The Lazy Song.”  His second album, Unorthodox Jukebox, produced “Locked Out of Heaven,” “When I Was Your Man” and “Treasure.”

Now, thanks to the success of “Finesse” — say that five times fast — Bruno has grabbed three hits from his latest disc, 24K Magic: “Finesse,” the title track and “That’s What I Like.”

Interestingly, there are four female artists who’ve achieved the same feat: Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga and Beyonce.

Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” is #1 for a sixth week, and Justin Timberlake’s new single “Filthy” has debuted at #9.  It’s his 18th top 10 as a solo artist.
