Pink joins performer lineup for CMA Awards; Niall Horan says CMA performance will be “nerve-wracking”

ABC/Lou RoccoPink is adding a little pop to the Country Music Association Awards. The singer will be performing at the 51st annual awards ceremony, airing on ABC next month.

Pink is also a CMA nominee this year for “Setting the World on Fire,” her duet with Kenny Chesney. She joins Niall Horan as one of only two pop stars performing at the ceremony this year.

“It’s gonna be nerve-wracking for me, I’d imagine,” Niall tells Music Choice. “It’s literally me and Pink, I think, are the only two that are coming in from our world. But it should be fun and I’m looking forward to it.  I am going to have to relish it because if I have to dwell on it I will be very sheepish about it.”

Niall will duet with country star Maren Morris on “Seeing Blind,” a track from Niall’s debut solo album, Flicker. It’ll be their first time performing the song.

“It’s an exciting time for that song, you know, it’s mad when you watch a song that you’ve written come to life like that,” Niall says.

So far, Niall says country fans have embraced him.

“By putting me on the show, they’ve welcome me with open arms,” he says. “But it’s one of those nights where it’s about the writing and the music, which is rare in some of these shows these days. So it’s nice to be able to be involved in something like that and perform in front of the greatest country acts of all time.”

Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley will co-host the 51st annual CMA Awards, airing November 8 on ABC at 8 p.m. ET.
