Sia supports Paris Jackson after backlash for film where she plays Jesus

Michael Tran/FilmMagicSia is supporting Paris Jackson as the 22-year-old faces backlash for playing Jesus Christ in a new movie called Habit.

“Dear @ParisJackson I love you, keep going. I believe you are a good person,” Sia wrote on Twitter Wednesday.

Her message of encouragement for Michael Jackson’s daughter comes after critics started a Change.org petition to prevent the movie’s release. It has over 260,000 signatures so far.

The indie film was announced in April and stars Bella Thorne as a girl who gets caught in a drug deal gone bad and decides to disguise herself as a nun to escape trouble.

Habit was previously subject to a petition by the organization One Million Moms. The group called the film “sacrilegious” and said it “mocks Christianity and ridicules people of faith.” That petition garnered over 70,000 signatures.
