Ariana Grande sued over posting her own paparazzi pics to Instagram

Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for AGAriana Grande is being sued for posting her own paparazzi photos.

In a lawsuit filed in New York Monday and obtained by BuzzFeed News, photographer Robert Barbera alleges the singer violated copyright law by posting photos he took of her to Instagram.

Back in August, Ariana posted two of the photos — in which she’s exiting a building carrying a “Sweetener” bag — the day she released her album Sweetener. “Happy sweetener day,” she captioned the post, which had received nearly four million likes.

In the suit, Barbera says he wants to be compensated with either the profits Ariana earned from the photos or $25,000 for each pic — whichever amount is greater.

Ariana has yet to comment.
