Big Hit EntertainmentWho knew Halsey could dance…and sing in Korean? She does both in the video for “Boy with Luv,” her new collab with K-pop superstars BTS.
The clip opens with Halsey in a movie theater ticket booth looking bored. She closes up the booth and leaves, and then the action switches to BTS. They dance and sing in a mixture of English and Korean, on a brightly colored set showing marquees with the names of their past albums.
She reappears about halfway through the clip, joining the seven-member group for intricate choreography, which she admitted on Twitter that she was nervous about doing.
Addressing BTS’ fans on Twitter, Halsey wrote, “ARMY thank you for embracing this collab + remember your boys love you + always want to make you happy.”
The album version of the track — a callback to BTS’ 2014 song “Boy in Luv” — features a lot more of Halsey’s vocals. “Boy with Luv” is from the group’s new EP Map of the Soul: Persona, which also features a song called “Make It Right,” a collaboration with Ed Sheeran.
BTS will make their debut this weekend on Saturday Night Live. They’re the first South Korean musical act to perform on the show.
