ABC/Image Group LAKelly Clarkson has a lot going on, between The Voice, her new animated film UglyDolls and her upcoming talk show. Her packed schedule is certainly impressive….just not to her kids.
“They do not care anymore. They’re not impressed,” the singer tells Entertainment Tonight of four-year-old daughter River Rose and two-year-old son Remy.
Kelly says River even gave her a scathing critique her during one of her recent rehearsals.
“She was like, ‘Mommy, you know when you’re on stage and you were singing?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, baby.’ I was thinking like a compliment was about to come,” she recalls. “She was like, ‘Yeah, I was really bored.'”
Kelly adds, “I was like, ‘Oh. Damn.’ ‘Well, that was sweet honey. Maybe don’t tell people that when they get off stage.’ But they don’t care, they’re over it. They see it all the time.”
As for her syndicated daytime show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, Kelly says she’s “really excited” for it, but also “slightly terrified.”
“It’s going to be fun and also it’s very serious,” she adds. “In the pilot, we did a lot of serious conversations that I feel are important, especially as a mom.”
On Monday, NBC announced that the show, which debuts this fall, will air in 99% of the country, on over 200 stations.
