Interscope RecordsIn the upcoming film Teen Spirit, actress Elle Fanning plays a teenager who enters a local singing competition. One of the songs she performs is called “Wildflowers,” which was co-written by Carly Rae Jepsen and Jack Antonoff.
Before the movie arrives, you can download Fanning’s rendition of “Wildflowers” now via digital outlets.
It’s fitting that Carly Rae co-wrote the song, given that she herself first found fame as a result of a singing competition: She came in third on Canadian Idol in 2007.
The soundtrack for the film, out April 5, also features Fanning’s covers of Ellie Goulding’s “Lights,” Robyn’s “Dancing on My Own,” and Owl City and Carly Rae’s “Good Time.” The original versions of No Doubt’s “Just a Girl” and Major Lazer’s “Lean On” are also on the track list.
Teen Spirit, also starring Rebecca Hall, hits select theaters April 12.
