Entertainment Tonight reports the former *NSYNC member will be guest-starring on an upcoming episode of ABC’s Single Parents.
He’ll play a fictional version of himself who run the most sought-after sleep-away camp in America: Lance Bass Space Camp. The camp combines space education and the performing arts, in a nod to two of Lance’s real-life passions. Remember his failed mission to become an astronaut back in 2002?
“I thought that was hilarious and I was very down to play that role,” Lance tells ET. “I guess it’s a really good joke when you put Lance Bass and space together because it works.”
When he was 23, Lance tried to secure a seat on a Russian space mission and went through astronaut training to become certified. During the process, he discovered he had a heart problem, and had to undergo surgery to correct it. Eventually, he was certified as a cosmonaut, but funding for the project ultimately fell through and he didn’t get to go to space after all.
Lance’s Single Parents episodes airs Wednesday, May 1 at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT.
