Sales soar as Jonas Brothers fans prove to be “suckers” for their back catalog, too

Peggy Sirota

It seems as if The Jonas Brothers‘ comeback single, “Sucker” — currently the #1 song in the nation — has made fans nostalgic for the group’s back catalog.  Sales of their older songs are now seeing massive bumps.

As Billboard reports, after “Sucker” debuted at #1, the Jonas Brothers’ previously highest-charting single, “Burnin’ Up,” experienced a 357% streaming increase and a 297% increase in downloads.  Meanwhile, their 2007 debut single, “Year 3000,” enjoyed a 356% bump in streams and a 388% increase in downloads.

And the trio’s 2007 single, “S.O.S.,” also benefited, jumping 358% in streams and 268% in sales.  2008’s “Love Bug,” meanwhile, is up 354% in streams and 362% in downloads.

But the Jonatics didn’t stop there.  Sales of the trio’s 2008 #1 album, A Little Bit Longer, increased by just under 300%.

So far, there’s no word of a new album or a tour by the reunited brothers — yet.

As previously reported, “Sucker” marks the first time a boy band has been #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in more than 16 years. The last act to do it was B2K with “Bump, Bump, Bump” in 2003.

“Sucker” is also only the second song by a duo or group ever to debut at #1: The first was Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing,” back in 1998.
