The show gives one songwriter per episode the chance to have their song recorded by a big-name guest artist.  Each songwriting hopeful will be mentored by three top music producers.  Among those involved in the show: OneRepublic‘s Ryan Tedder, Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer Ester Dean, and Grammy-winning songwriter and producer Shane McAnally, who’s scored 38 #1 country hits.

The concept of the show came from Dave Stewart of ’80s hit-making duo Eurythmics, and one of the producers of The Voice, according to Deadline.

No word on whether Adam himself will appear on Songland.
