Ariana Grande gifts “7 Rings” music video director an eighth ring

Republic Records/UMG

It’s 8 Rings now. Ariana Grande gave her “7 Rings” music video director, Hannah Lux Davis, a Tiffany’s diamond ring of her very own.

The special moment was captured in a new behind-the-scenes video from the music video’s set. We see Ariana present Davis with the little blue box and Davis opens it in shock.

“No it’s not,” Davis says in disbelief. To which Ariana replies, “It’s 8 Rings now.”

The two hug as Davis is overwhelmed with emotion. “Oh my God, I’m gonna cry,” she says.

The inspiration for the song “7 Rings” came from a trip that Ariana and her friends took to the Tiffany store in New York City on a particularly rough day. Ariana ended up buying all her friends matching diamond rings.

Hannah Lux Davis has been a long-time collaborator of Ariana’s. She directed two of her other most recent videos, “thank u, next” and “Breathin.’”
