Courtesy of the Recording AcademyKaty Perry has joined the lineup for the Grammy Awards: She’ll be paying tribute to one of her idols, Dolly Parton.
The country legend is being honored as the MusiCares Person of the Year a few days before the Grammys, but she’ll also be highlighted during the actual telecast this Sunday night. Katy, who sang with Dolly a few years ago at the Academy of Country Music Awards, will join country stars Maren Morris, Little Big Town, and Kacey Musgraves in honoring the “9 to 5” star. Dolly herself will perform as well.
Meanwhile, the Grammy telecast will kick off with an “explosive” joint performance featuring Camila Cabello, Ricky Martin, Latin star J Balvin — a current nominee — and rapper Young Thug, who was featured on Camila’s hit “Havana.”
As previously reported, other Grammy performers include Shawn Mendes, Cardi B, Diana Ross, Brandi Carlile and Dan + Shay. Alicia Keys hosts the proceedings, airing live from the Staples Center in L.A. Sunday night at 8 p.m. ET.
