“I feel like people probably only thought I'd make the Walk of Shame”: Pink gets her star in Hollywood

ABC/Lou Rocco“I feel like I’m dreaming,” Pink said Tuesday in Hollywood as she received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “And if anyone pinches me, I’m gonna punch ’em in the left eyebrow!”

It was a typically irreverent statement from the Grammy-winning star, who accepted the honor with her fans and her family — including husband Carey Hart and children Willow Sage and Jameson Moon — looking on.

“I feel like a lot of people probably only thought I’d make it to the Walk of Shame, but here I am,” she joked. “Two little letters make such a big difference!”

“It has been a trip lately thinking back over the course of this career that I have somehow managed to have,” she continued. “I signed my first record deal 23 years ago…And I’m only 23 and a half, so that’s craaaazy!”

But on a serious note, Pink said that the honor was a “celebration of something my dad taught me, and that is ‘to thine own self be true.'”

“There’s a power in believing in yourself,” she told the crowd, adding, “There’s a power in making a decision that, while you may not be the best that ever did it, you may not be the prettiest, or the tallest, or the funniest or the most talented….if you’re stubborn and you work really hard, no one else can ever be you.”

Pink thanked husband Carey for being her “muse,” and to Willow and Jameson, she said, “You guys are my stars and I would never shine without you.”

And to her loyal fans, Pink said, “You guys make it matter.”

Ellen DeGeneres and Reno 911! actress Kerri Kenney-Silver, both good friends of Pink, were on hand to pay tribute to her at the ceremony.
