Yay, “DNA”: Backstreet Boys on track for first number one album in 18 years

RCA RecordsBackstreet’s back…in a big way. The Backstreet Boys are heading for their first number one album in 18 years on the Billboard 200 chart.

Billboard reports DNA, released last Friday, is on track to sell more than 200,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in its debut week. The chart will be revealed Sunday, February 3.

If DNA does hit number one, it will mark BSB’s 10th top 10 album, their third number one and first chart-topper since Black & Blue spent two weeks on top in December 2000. The group also hit number one with 1999’s Millennium.

DNA has so far spun off two singles: the Grammy-nominated “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” and “Chances.”
