Shawn Mendes leads Juno Awards nominations with six; Sarah McLachlan to host

Brian ZiffShawn Mendes leads the nominations for this year’s Juno Awards — the Canadian version of the Grammys — with six, including Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Pop Album and Album of the Year for his current self-titled third release, Single of the Year for “In My Blood” and Fan Choice.

Right behind him is The Weeknd, who has five nods, including Artist of the Year, Fan Choice and Album of the Year for My Dear Melancholy.

Alessia Cara is also up for Artist of the Year and Single of the Year for “Growing Pains.”  Other nominees include Avril Lavigne, Loud Luxury, Michael Buble and, in the International Album of the Year category, Camila Cabello, Cardi B, Maroon 5, Post Malone and Travis Scott.

The 2019 Juno Awards, hosted by 12-time Juno winner Sarah McLachlan, will take place Sunday, March 17 in London, Ontario.
